Hadm al-Jani 'ala al-Bani (هدم الجاني على الباني) by Imam Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti رحمه الله is a concise classical Arabic jurisprudential treatise addressing an unusual but important legal question concerning a property deliberately used as a place for open sinful and immoral activity.

The work arose from an actual case brought to Imam al-Suyuti concerning a property near a mosque whose owner knowingly rented it to people who used it for prohibited activities. After attempts were made to persuade the owner to stop its misuse, a disagreement arose concerning whether such a building could legally be demolished.

Imam al-Suyuti wrote on the issue and defended his legal position using the principles and evidences of Islamic jurisprudence. The treatise is also known in connection with his larger work رفع منار الدين وهدم بناء المفسدين, from which Hadm al-Jani 'ala al-Bani was presented as a shortened treatment of the issue.

This is therefore a specialist work of classical Fiqh, offering insight into questions of property, public wrongdoing, prevention of harm and the authority to address places established for prohibited activities.
