الاتجاه العلماني المعاصر في علوم القرآن
ABOUT THE BOOK
In the modern era, various deviant trends have emerged in the interpretation of the Noble Qur’an, through the propagation of distorted principles that have appeared clearly in some contemporary commentaries on the Glorious Book.
With the rise of modernity, attempts emerged to introduce Western philosophical concepts into modern interpretations of the verses of the Book of Allah along with the rulings derived from it. This was done under the false claim that the Noble Qur’an is expansive enough to accommodate all opinions and ideologies, without departing from its foundational principles, rules, and established methods of interpretation.
However, the reality is that the Qur’an possesses fixed principles governing its interpretation, and whatever opinions or understandings contradict these principles must be rejected. This includes opinions that stem from unsound foundations, deviant ideas, and rejected views found in certain modern tafsīr works, especially where they conflict with classical Qur’anic exegesis and the historically established rulings of the Qur’an, as well as the distinctive characteristics of interpretations produced in earlier eras.
This book comes in a methodological framework, addressing a number of central issues under several chapters. Among the most important of these are: the concept of revelation and prophethood according to modernists; the historicization of Qur’anic rulings in modernist thought and the dangers of this approach; and thirdly, their attempts to undermine the authority of the Qur’anic text.
The book then concludes by presenting the most important results reached and offering a number of recommendations and scholarly proposals.”
