ABOUT THE BOOK

Al-Tanwir fi Mawlid al-Siraj al-Munir wa al-Bashir al-Nadhir (التنوير في مولد السراج المنير والبشير النذير) by Imam Abu al-Khattab Ibn Dihyah al-Kalbi is a classical Arabic work devoted to the birth and Sirah of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

Ibn Dihyah was among the early scholars to compose a dedicated work in the genre of the Prophetic Mawlid. The book was composed after his arrival in Irbil, where he encountered the ruler al-Muzaffar al-Din's particular interest in commemorating the birth of the Prophet ﷺ.
